DEIMOS Init/Stow GUI

The DEIMOS Init/Stow GUI is one of the components of the DEIMOS control GUI.

The following figure shows the layout of the DEIMOS Init/Stow GUI:

The GUI is composed of three different areas:

  • Recalibrate instrument: This is used to home the mechanisms. One can home each mechanism individually or all mechanisms at once with the Recalibrate all button.
  • Return to default: This is used to send the stages to a predefined set of values. It also loads the default detector video offsets. The Apply default config button is used in the early stages of the afternon checkout.
  • End-of-nigth: This is used to put DEIMOS in safe mode at the end of the night. The Stow button closes the hatch, unclamps the grating, closes the shutter, turns off all the internal lamps (calibration and FCS lamps) and halts the rotator.
Additionally, the GUI also has a logging text box a the bottom, which will display progress information for the different actions. The Close button closes the GUI.

The GUI has all control areas disabled (grayed out) by default. To enable control of one of the areas, simply left-click on the area title. For instance, to enable control to calibrate the mechanims, left-click on Recalibrate instrument. The GUI will look as follows:
