The KECK.LRIS package contains IRAF tasks useful in the
reduction of LRIS images:
- cdata
- go to the current LRIS data directory
- multi2simple
- convert LRIS images from mHDU to "simple" FITS image
format
- lrisdisplay
- display mHDU LRIS images in ds9 under IRAF
- lspecfocus
- Derive best focus value from spectral-mode arc image
sequence. Supports both simple and mHDU images. Also permits
dividing the image into multiple sections in the dispersion
direction in order to check focus variation in the wavelength
axis.
- check_boxes
- Display image and mark location of alignment boxes.
Optionally invoke lbox to complete mask alignment. Supports
both red and blue sides.
- do_check_boxes
- A convenient front-end to check_boxes which will determines
the image name and name of the box coordinates file for you.
Execute this task during a mask alignment image and it will run
check_boxes as soon as the image reads out. If no image is in
progress, it will analyze the most recent image.
- get_seeing
- Measure FWHM image sizes of stars in slitmask alignment
images.
- do_lbox
- A convenient front-end to lbox which will determines the
image name and name of the box coordinates file for you.
Execute this task during a mask alignment image and it will run
lbox as soon as the image reads out. If no image is in
progress, it will analyze the most recent image.
Invocation
The software is loaded by typing keck and then
lris at the IRAF CL prompt at Keck headquarters.
