7.8 SC control loops
The SC implements the following control loops (with references to the corresponding DFDs):
- off-loading low-order terms:
- TTM tilt off-loaded to telescope pointing (Figure 4-12)
- DM or WFS tilt off-loaded to telescope primary (Figure 4-13)
- WFS coma off-loaded to telescope secondary (Figure 4-14)
- T/FS focus off-loaded to FCS (LGS mode) (Figure 4-15)
- DM or WFS focus off-loaded to telescope secondary (Figure 4-16)
- compensating for alignment shifts, beam deviations and pupil rotation (Figures not yet available)
- NIRC-2 alignment compensation
- ADC beam deviation compensation
- Pupil rotation compensation
- LGS focus position compensation
- maintaining statistics for the UI, e.g. average wavefront error
These loops are controlled directly from the UI and operate entirely via EPICS database processing. They do not require any support from the main SC sequence.
