Image Quality Testing
PI: S. Panteleev and S. Kwok
1. Continuous focusing test - 2 hours (after PCS tests during the first half of the night)
The purpose of the test is to try the continuous focusing method using secondary
mirror dithering. SSC camera will be used as a detector to measure image sizes.
The test will need starlight.
S. Panteleev will send the details of the test later (such as ranges of the
secondary mirror motions, elevations, secondary mirror perturbations)
2. MIRA test on the SSC - 1 hour
The purpose is to validate MIRA test results using known perturbations of the secondary mirror (right after PCS optical tests assuring "perfect" image quality). As a side result of the test we will check the SSC plate scale and rotation.
In case if some time is left we will do additional MIRA measurements for segment image size evaluation.
