How to take internal calibrations

• Use a "Lamps Only" script from the EFS GUI:
  1. Select "Lamps Only" from the "Obs Mode" pull-down on the EFS
  2. Select your desired filter, slit, echelle angle and cross disperser angle (Note that the "Nod Pattern" is ignored)
  3. Click "GO"
     For low-res, you will see the following sequence:
     1. flat lamp on (saved)
     2. detector flush
     3. flat lamp off (saved)
     4. neon lamp on (saved)
     5. detector flush
     6. argon lamp on (saved)
     7. detector flush
     For high-res you will get one less arc frame:
     1. flat lamp on (saved)
     2. detector flush
     3. flat lamp off (saved)
     4. neon + argon + krypton + xenon lamps on (saved)
     5. detector flush
• Use the Cal. Acq. Tool:
  1. Setup NIRSPEC using a "Setup Only" script from the EFS
  2. Enter the number of flats (lamps on) and darks (lamps off) frames that you want
  3. Enter the integration time and coadds for each flat/dark frame
  4. Select which arc lamps you want
  5. Enter the integration time and coadds for each arc frame
  6. Click "GO"
