Only Trained Personnel should change Gratings
1. Login to honolii as lriseng.
2. Select 'Engineering | Changeout | All Reconfiguration Software' in the desktop menu
3. Click on the grating position to be changed from the GUI or from a lrisserver xterm prompt type 'gr_service x' to drive the grating to the service port. Where x is the number of the grating to be changed, (i.e. gr_service 5, to rotate the grating in position 5 to the service port).
4. LRIS must be removed to the Cass Platform to change a grating. Remove LRIS following the module servicing procedure.
5. Locate the nut tray, a grating cover and the yellow handled 5/16 nut driver in the gray cabinet on nas deck.
6. Rotate LRIS to the grating change out position with the dewars at 12 o'clock (180°).
7. Set up step ladder on the right side of LRIS to gain access to the service port.
8. Open the service port cover. Slide the nut trap under the grating cell to prevent the grating retaining nuts from falling into the turret and to prevent the turret from being inadvertently rotated.
9. Install the grating cover securely.
10. Remove the nuts retaining the grating into the cell with the nut driver.
11. Remove the grating from the turret by pulling on the cover handles, being careful not to shock the grating cell and stow in the gray cabinet.
12. Install the required grating in the turret.
13. Install the nuts by putting the nut in the socket of the nut driver first, then screw to tighten. Sometimes the gratings cells do not define until they are screwed in snugly. Remove the grating cover and nut trap.
14. Drive the turret to the next position to be serviced and install the grating.
15. Close and latch the service port cover.
16. Stow the nut driver, grating cover, and nut trap in the gray cabinet on the nas deck.
17. Five gratings should remain in the cabinet. Five gratings stay in LRIS.
