Detectors Switching binning on the blue detector causes increased noise that persists for several minutes (up to 20 minutes). The red detector catches large quantites of cosmic rays; we recommend <= 300 sec exposures, see Detector Info.
Grating All gratings are performing very well.

KCWI's red side will be commissioning in June-July 2023 and then will be shared risk in August 2023 (2023-March-8)
KCWI's red side arrived at the observatory on February 24, 2023. Yay! Installation of the red components into KCWI is ongoing!
KCWI's red side is planned to be available shared risk in August 2023, full science in September 2023. See the KCWI Configurations page for specifications.

First official release of the KCWI pipeline (2021-Apr-1)
The first official version of the KCWI pipeline is now available. This version is officially supported by the observatory and can be downloaded here

KCWI data are now available in KOA! (2017-Oct-30)
We are plased to announce that KCWI data are now available as part of the Keck Observatory Archive using your KOA login/password. No public data are available (as a result of our proprietary data protection policy).
