Internal Guider Focus Routine
This procedure is normally done by the OA, prompted by the
"Start of Night Script" usually initiated by the SA before the dome is opened.
Start with the OA MAGIQ GUI up. This is selected from the
MAGIQ-K2_Operations_Menu icon which comes up after
selecting "MAGIQ" from the TCSGUI
Open a new Guider Camera Focus GUI: MAGIQ -> Guider -> Guider camera focus.
SA runs the "Start of Night Script", which turns on the fiber source
On MAGIQ, select kcwi from the dropdown, and turn exposure "ON"
- Set exp time = 1000ms
- Set Period=0
- Set Guide Box=10
- Click "Off/On Target"
- Then click on the bright spot to start guiding on it
On the Guider Camera Focus GUI:
- Click "start"
- This runs similarly to autofocus. It will take several images and find a best fit focus position.
This best fit position should be close to 140 (usually ~135 or so).
- When it's finished, click "send focus"
- Click "close"
