DEIMOS NB8560 Filter
This narrow-band filter was designed and purchased by Tammy Smecker-Hane for use with DEIMOS and is available for community use.

Filter Parameters

Property Value Notes
Peak transmission ~100% Uncertain by about 5%
Pivot wavelength 8560.3 Å Using method from Tokunaga & Vacca 2005
Passband Width 269.4 Å Equivalent width of the rectangle having the same area as the total area under the normalized transmission curve.

Warnings

  • Because of the fast optical beam at the location of the filter, it is possible that the central wavelength will vary as a function of position on the detector for this filter (as is also the case with any interference filter used in DEIMOS).
