DEIMOS CCD Mosaic Layout

Summary

This document describes the layout of the DEIMOS CCD mosaic, indicating which devices and which amplifiers are in which locations in the focal plane in both Direct and Spectral readout modes. It also depicts the image as displayed on the ds9 image display clients at Keck.

Notes
  • Numbers in red correspond to video input number (VIDINP)
  • Names in cyan are CCD device names (CCDNAME)

Notes
  • Extension: Number of the image extension (header data unit or HDU) in which the data are written, where HDU 0 is the primary HDU.
  • VIDEOINP: Video Input
  • AMPLOC: CCD amplifier number
  • AMPTYPE: CCD amplifier type (A or B)
  • CCDLOC: CCD number within the mosaic (1-8)
  • CCDNAME: CCD device name

Notes
  • Numbers in red correspond to video input number (VIDINP)
  • Names in cyan are CCD device names (CCDNAME)
  • Recent versions of ds9 display DEIMOS direct-mode images flipped in X relative to the spectral-mode images; to see the correct orientation, select the Invert X option.
