Data Disks

Data disks

Users are now assigned data disk partitions for writing images taken with Keck instruments. The partitions are listed on the observing schedule posted in the operations rooms. All partitions are addressed from any CARA machine as /s/sdataNNN/inst## where:
  • N is the 3-digit number of your data disk as printed on the telescope schedule
  • inst is the name of your instrument (hires, lris, lws, etc.)
  • ## is the user's account number (1-20).

Scratch Disks

Scratch disks are provided for use in data reduction. The location to use depends on the instrument you are using:
