LGS-AO: Low Bandwidth Wavefront Sensor Image Acquisition (LBImgAcq)

The Low Bandwidth Wavefront Sensor (LBWFS) Image Acquisition GUI (LbImgAcq) is a tool for the AO operator to control LBWFS data taking and apply COG files to the fast WFS

    Overview
  • LB COG in use
  • LBWFS exposure time
  • LB lenslets and Zernike modes in use
  • Data taking mode

GUI Description

Top Section
  • Read only: LBWFS cog file in use
  • LBWFS integration time in seconds, range=1-120 sec.
  • All modes (20x20)
  • 45 modes (20x20)
  • 10 modes (20x20)
  • 6 modes (5x5)
  • Ref. cog
Image Acquisition
  • Put LBWFS into infinite loop mode
  • Default mode for OSIRIS
  • LBWFS attempts to sync with the science instrument to determine how long the telescope will remain in each dither position
  • Default mode for NIRC2
  • Take a single LBWFS exposure
  • Take a LBWFS background (typically not used)
  • Stop the LBWFS exposures
  • Info such as image time remaining countdown
Image Processing
Bitmask of processing levels
  • level 0 = none
  • level 7 = dark subtraction only (R brighter than 14-15)
  • level 15 = full processing (R fainter than 16)
