10.4.3 Motif
- Motif has to be purchased for SunOS but is bundled with Solaris 2. It is the preferred X toolkit and should be used in preference to Open Look.
- At Keck, DataViews is always installed on top of Motif, which allows DataViews views to be embedded in Motif applications and vice versa.
- Most users of DataViews with Motif use DVXDesigner, a Motif GUI development tool with built-in support for the DataViews view widget. Keck does not currently use this product but is considering doing so.
