The tip-tilt supply provides power for both the UTT (Up Tip-Tilt) and DTT (Down Tip-Tilt) mirrors. This power is supplied to the WFC and the power amplifiers used to drive the mirrors.
In order for this power to be safely turned off and on the voltages should be ramped up and down. A ramp rate and sequencing is automatically applied during shutoff and power up.
Any work done on the UTT and DTT should be performed with this power off. This can be accomplished through these instructions...
- In your web browser open the URL for the appropriate tip-tilt power supply, a webpage served by the power supply should appear
- On the tabs at left side select "Web Browser Control" a screen like that shown below should appear
- Use the "On/Off" button indicated with the red arrow to turn the supply on and off as needed, observe the readouts to insure the supply is in the desired state. The correct on voltages should be 65V, 65V and 30V on modules 1, 2 and 3 respectively.
- Close the browser window to avoid an accidental change to the supply
Several advanced settings should be present. These are normally set and saved by the unit and should not require checking.
- All three modules should be coupled together to ramp simultaneously. This is done in the menus: Output->Sequence->Couple, select all check boxes for all three modules
- All three modules should be set to a maximum slew rate of 30V/s. This is done in the menus: Output->Advanced->Slew->Voltage, entering 30 into the box and pressing enter
