Rebooting the SC
- Go to the SC GUI top menu, select Terms, then SC, then current. This will display the telnet session.
-
Hit the ENTER key to engage the vxWorks prompt. The prompt should appear.
If the prompt does not appear, then the box is hung beyond a capability to soft-reboot, requiring a hardware reset.
- If the prompt appears (usual case), then hold down the control button and enter the character x. Then release both keys. This key combination will invoke a soft reboot. The terminal output will scroll display text as the boot progresses.
- Alternatively, you could type "reboot" at the prompt and enter to get the vxworks vme crate to reboot.
- After the boot completion, press CONTROL and ] simultaneously. This will escape the vxWorks prompt and replace it with a "telnet>" prompt. Type the word quit. This releases the terminal session.
- You can follow this link to check which of the OBS/SC/WFC/LS/IDL versions should be used.
Note: this procedure works with any of the telnet sessions
Also Note: On LGS nights, following an SC reboot, An LBWFS image needs to be acquired with the "record image" button in LBWFS Calibration tool. This is to get the weights keyword stored in the SC to behave correctly, otherwise the lbacq tool will crash.
