Details

Date: Wednesday 13 August 2003
Configuration: f/15 + tertiary
SEGMENT EXCHANGE RECOVERY
Segments Exchanged: SPs 32, 15, and 5
Segments Unwarped: SPs 32, 15, and 5
Reference Segment: SP 21

1) T922, Realign optics after segment exchange 6.0 hours
This involves approximately 2 hours of work before going on the sky and about four hours after. The pre-sky work may begin as soon as the segment exchange is completed. Richard Cohen and Barbara Schaefer will be coordinating pre-sky work for Wednesday, 13 August. On-sky work may begin shortly after sunset during twilight.

This test includes stacking and phasing of the primary mirror (T598,T596)

2) T447, UFS of unwarped & exchanged SPs 32, 15, and 5 ~2 hours
!!PLUS THE REFERENCE SEGMENT!!

NOTE: SP 21 is the REFERENCE segment. Do the reference segment at the beginning, at the end, and after every three or so segments, being sure to do it before and after changing stars, if you must change stars.

SPs 32, 15, and 5 were unwarped and exchanged today.

3) T447, UFS of segments warped last month for stability tests
SPs 31, 30,14, 29, 13, 4 and reference segment as appropriate! ~3hours
Please save time for T358 at the end of the night.
Segments in this group that you do not get tonight may be done
tomorrow or the next night.

4) T358 Segment and Telescope Image Quality ~0.5 hours
