The workspace pull-down menu accesses several tools useful for observing at the visitor port. Below is a screen shot with many of the tools running. Following that is a description of the tools.
| MIRLIN | Contains entries to start up the various pieces of the MIRLIN software. |
| Login Windows | A list of potentially useful xterms and cmdtools, logging onto the visitor machine, the local computer, etc. |
| Netscape | Brings up Netscape. |
| Dewar Tilt Monitor | Keeps track of the angle between vertical and the dewar fill tubes. |
| Chopper focal plane display | A graphic showing the chopper's capabilities (yellow circle), the base offset (green line) which defines the position of optimal image quality, and the chopper throw (normally a black arrow in use; it is red when the chopper is not running). |
| Chopstat | A self-updating list of chopper parameters. |
| Guider directions | Az/el and RA/Dec directions on the guider. |
| Instrument directions | Az/el and RA/Dec directions on the instrument. |
| K2 Telescope Status | A submenu containing graphical or text versions of the telescope parameters. |
| Guider Eavesdropping | Brings up a copy of the OA's master guider display. |
