AO

Adaptive optics (AO) is a technique and technology used to correct astronomical images due to blurring by the atmosphere. AO removes the twinkle from your stars.

I have been involved with AO operations since my arrival at Keck in 2003.

Our dedicated team of astronomers keeps the instruments and adaptive optics systems read to go for our Keck observing community.
Instrument Scientist
I am responsible for all cryogenic, electronic, mechanical, optical, software, and vacuum aspects of facility instruments, ESI, and PCS.

Staff Astronomer
I am the point of contact for visiting observers and am an expert in planning, calibration, execution, and data reduction of observations in the optical and infrared.
