End-of-night shutdown

To shutdown the NIRC2 software and put NIRC2 in safe mode at the end of the night:

  • The preferred option to shutdown NIRC2 is to select from the VNC pull-down menu NIRC2 Control → Shutdown/endnight NIRC2. This menu entry runs the script stop_all_nirc2_software. The script can also be run on a waikoko-new terminal. The script stop_all_nirc2_software will put NIRC2 in safe mode and shut down all GUIs.
  • The old script endnight, which may still be included in custom-made calibration scripts, will not run on a waikoko-new terminal. Please, replace endnight with stop_all_nirc2_software in your custom-made calibration scripts.
