IRTF Bright Standards
List of standard stars from the NASA IRTF.
Cohen Standard Star Lists for LWS
The stars listed in the above tables are suggested mid-infrared standards that are found in the composite and model spectra database of Cohen et al. (1992a, 1992b, 1995, 1996a, 1996b, 1999). Coordinates and proper motions are from the Hipparcos Catalog. Two spectral types are listed in the composite table. The HIP type is the spectral type listed in the Hipparcos Catalog, while the Cohen type is found in the headers of the composite and model spectra.
The tables include standard star fluxes normalized by the manufacturer's filter transmissions. The detector response and transmission of the dewar window are not included in the flux calculations. Efforts to acquire the complete system transmission for the filter passbands is ongoing and an updated standard list is forthcoming.
Several stars in the Cohen lists are in common with those found in Hammersley et al. (1998) and Tokunaga (1984 see IRTF Bright Standards). Many of the stars in the list have not been observed with the LWS. Please report position angles for guide stars to ease future observing.
