Background
When observing targets with the standard LRIS longslit
masks, it is helpful to know how much of the slit is
visible on the slit-viewing guider and how much extends
off the ends of the guider field of view. The figure
below, kindly provided by Daniel Perley of UCB, illustrates
this.

- Slit-viewing guider FOV: 91×68 arcsec
- Slit sections:
- Leftmost 42 arcsec is off guider
- Next 33 arcsec is on left side of guider
- Center 14 arcsec of slit lies within blue mosaic gap
- Next 44 arcsec is on right side of guider
- Rightmost 35 arcsec is off guider
