REBOOTING THE CCD CRATE
|
 |
Procedure
There are two situations: the crate is stuck midway through a boot, and the crate is up and running but needs to be rebooted anyway.
These are distinguished by the crate prompt as described below:
- Log in to kanaha as esieng
- Execute the command
telnet tserver4 3005
to open
a TIP line to the CCD VME crate.
- Press the RETURN key a couple of times to
get a prompt.
- If you see:
[VxWorks Boot]:
then the system is hung at the boot prompt. Type
"@" (without the quotes) and a carriage
return to reboot the crate.
If, instead, you see:
->
then type reboot followed by the
RETURN key to intiate a normal reboot.
If you get no response, you need to ask someone on the summit
to power cycle the ESI VME CCD crate in the Keck II computer
room.
- You will see things scrolling by till reboot of crate s/w
is complete. The end of the sequence is signalled by:
Done executing startup script /vx/esi5ce/startup.cmd
Got network configuration
Broadcast message sent on ln0
Broadcast not sent on lo0
- Press Ctrl ] to return to the telnet
prompt, and type quit to terminate the telnet
session.
- At the kanaha prompt, run the
testAll command. This will ping the CCD crate
(esi5ce) to make sure it is up, and will check some
CCD keywords to make sure they are reporting properly (it also
tests a number of other, non-CCD things).
- Type fix_stuck_ccd. This resets relevant
exposure parameters to the values they should have when no
exposure or readout is in progress.
