Background

The DEIMOS keyword history service (keygrabber) is running since November 1, 2016. The service runs in the machine vm-history-1. This service allows users to access past keyword values and also to monitor keyword values in real time.

Some useful commands

The service can be accessed by loging in vm-history-1 as user kics. The command gshow translates a basic query on the command line into the proper format to retrieve the data from a keyword history database. These are some examples of queries that can be performed using the command gshow:

gshow -h or gshow -H
Show the help with all possible command line options.
gshow -s deifcs utb30ven -date "1 day ago" -csv 1min
Shows the values of the keyword UTB30VEN from the service deifcs in the last day at intervals of 1 minute. The ouput is shown in comma-separated format, where the first field is the time stamp and the second field is the value of UTB30VEN.
gshow deifcs.utb%ven -date "1 week ago" -csv 1hour
Shows the values of the keywords UTB15VEN and UTB30VEN from the service deifcs in the last week at intervals of 1 hour. The ouput is shown in comma-separated format, where the first field is the time stamp, the second field is the value of UTB15VEN and the last field is the value of UTB30VEN.
gshow deirot.rotatval -date "November 22, 2016 11:00" -window 3h -csv 5min
Shows the value of the keyword ROTATVAL from the service deirot between November 22, 2016 at 11:00 and 13:00 at intervals of 5 minutes. The output is in comma-separated format.
gshow deirot.rotatval -date "November 02, 2016 00:00" -window 24h -csv 10min -kplot
Plots the values of the keyword ROTAVAL from the service deirot during 24 hours starting on November 2, 2016 at 00:00.

Starting and stopping the service

Login as user kics into vm-history-1
cd /local/kroot/etc/init.d

./deimos_keygrabber status shows the service status:

	    deimos_keygrabbe: is running on vm-history-1.
	    deimos_keygrabbe:  PPID   PID  PGID   UID    VSZ   RSS %CPU     TIME COMMAND
	    deimos_keygrabbe:     1 15661 15447  1002 2538532 42772
