Slitmasks. Slitmask system problematic; slot 12 exhibits occasional slitmask insertion failures. Jeff Lewis will attend to this during his late January visit.
Filters. Science filter wheel failed (1/7); summit staff located and tightened loose set screw.
Optics. December engineering tests show system throughput unchanged since the start of commissioning, alleviating concerns that the silver coatings in DEIMOS were degrading.

Flexure compensation system (FCS). Lick released new cross-correlation algorithm for FCS centroiding, simplifying setup and making operation more robust. Also, a new repository will eliminate the need for many observers to perform afternoon FCS calibrations.
Filter focus discipline (FFD). Lick released software which supports automated refocusing of the instrument when the science filter is changed. The software relies on a lookup table which is reconfigurable by the support astronomer.
DREMEL. Lick released new version of software for handling instrument reconfigurations.
Guider. Shui Kwok released new guider centroiding algorithm which eliminates the quantization effect seen in previous runs.
Xbox. Drew Phillips released a new version of the his slitmask alignment program.
Savier. Bob Goodrich adapted his savier data backup system for DEIMOS.
