The Keck Observatory Titan Monitoring Project

The Keck Observatory Titan Monitoring Project is a collaboration between observatory staff and visiting astronomers, intended to further our understanding of Titan's surface and atmosphere by acquiring frequent, high-resolution snapshots Titan using the Keck 2 adaptive optics system.

This project began in September 2003 and continued until shortly after the landing of the Huygens spacecraft on Titan in January 2005.

The observations, performed on AO engineering nights, director's nights, and during twilight on the science nights of agreeable observers, were coordinated by A. Bouchez. The data are now publicly available for download from this web page. You may download individual reduced FITS files by clicking on the images, all reduced FITS files for a given night by clicking on the date, or all the data by clicking here (3.8 Mb). For a description of the processing steps followed, please see this page.

In addition to the Keck Titan Monitoring Project images, marked as belonging to Team Keck in the table below, other interested observers have contributed images of Titan taken during this period to this web page. However, these are not available for download.

You can find observing instructions here.
