Background
This document describes the steps involved in bringing up the
LRIS software in a VNC environment to be shared with a team of
observers at a mainland site. The Waimea steps are meant to be
performed by a support astronomer.
Procedures for Waimea Personnel

pupukea using assigned LRIS numbered account
(lrisNN).
- Check VNC servers. From the pulldown menu, select
VNC > VNC Status
If the servers are running, this should return a display a
list showing 7 servers:
# Display Desktop User PID
# ------- ------- ---- ---
:1 lris-lris2-telstatus lris2 19102
:2 lris-lris2-control0 lris2 19122
:3 lris-lris2-control1 lris2 19156
:4 lris-lris2-control2 lris2 19217
:5 lris-lris2-analysis0 lris2 19275
:6 lris-lris2-analysis1 lris2 19328
:7 lris-lris2-analysis2 lris2 19387
If no servers are listed, then restart the servers
from the pulldown menu via:
VNC > Start VNC servers
Important: do not press Enter to exit this
window, or the VNC windows will lose their window managers.

workspace with a tan background called
lris-lrisNN-control0.
- haleiwa:1 should show a PSEUDOCOLOR
workspace with a tan background called
