Follow these steps at the end of the night to turn LRIS off:
  1. If you were last taking dome flats, turn the lamps off.
  2. Shut down instrument.
    From the desktop menu, select 
    LRIS Control...End of night shutdown.
    This will:
    1. Close the trapdoor.
    2. Stow all blue optics in the carousels.
    3. Turn off all lamps.
    4. Stop all LRIS GUI windows.
  3. Stop guider eavesdrop.
    Kill any existing guider eavesdrop window by going to the desktop menu and selecting 
    Guider Eavesdropping ... Guider Eavesdrop STOP.
  4. Stop other windows. Kill any existing FACSUM and TkRose windows by clicking and holding the right mouse button in the window's titlebar and releasing on the QUIT item.
  5. Start Data Backup Start backing up your data. Please see the Autobackup documentation for how to run autobackup.
  6. Log out
    If data backups are complete, from the desktop menu, select the Exit... item to end your Xwindows session and log out of the workstation.
