This page will display examples of weird looking spectra as they are discovered. Hopefully, in each case, the solution will be simple but may not be obvious at the time.

  1. "Torn", "choppy", "misaligned", "skewed", etc. etc. spectra

    In both cases, the wrong type of slit has somehow been chosen. i.e. a high-res slit when the rest of the instrument is in low res mode, or vice-versa.
