More info on NIRSPEC match box
NIRSPEC match box

The NIRSPEC host computer waimea communicates with NIRSPEC's on-board transputers over a SCSI-protocol connection. The connection between the transputers and the SCSI is via the match box.

The match box is found in the electronics racks of the instrument, in the small center portion where the Lakeshore temperature controller is also. It is beside the on-instrument black box standing on its side.

Here is a wide view picture showing the right side of the instrument with all three covers removed.

Here is a closer view with just the small center cover removed.

Power Cycling the Match Box:

To power cycle the match box, go to the left side of the instrument. There is a power cord with an in-line switch there so that you can power cycle the match box without having to open a cover or reach in to a rack.

Here is a wide view picture showing where to look for the cord.

Here is a closer in picture showing the cord.
