Cross section plot
This is a portion of an echelle spectrum continuum in H-band showing two resolved stars of HR3210 on the slit. The plot includes a gaussian fit overplotted to each of the continuum streaks produced by the stars, which shows the spatial resolution achieved.
Cross section plot
A direct image and spectrum in H-band of the Seyfert galaxy NGC4151. The direct image was again taken through the 68 milli-arcsec slit. The spectrum is the difference between two raw 1024x1024 600s high-resolution spectra, with the object nodded 254 mas along slit between the two images.
A direct image in J-band, and a portion of a high-resolution H-band spectrum taken by the NIRSPEC spectrograph detector of the spectroscopic binary star SAO64240 (V(primary)=7.4). The direct image is that of the 68 milli-arcsec slit with the binary pair (separation approximately 70 milli-arcsec) within it. This image was taken to verify that the object pair is within the slit and at the proper position angle. The spectrum shows the spatial separation of the two stellar continua in 3 of the central orders in high-resolution mode, at R=14600.
