The time to read out the NIRC2 detector is approximately:
where:
- t = the requested integration time (i.e., tint )
- s = the is the number of Fowler reads (i.e., sampmode )
- c = the size of the subframe in pixels (i.e., subc )
and the constants A and B correspond to the per-frame
and per-pixel overheads, respectively. A results from
the overhead associated with gathering and writing FITS
keywords while B results from the additional per-pixel
overhead associated with opening the file and writing the
